Blast To The Past

Something I found and I thought I share.

Through the scope I watched him as he moved from house to house, he would knock at each door if there was an answer he would spend approximately two minutes chatting get out an envelope, pass it to them, smile and nod his head politely then move to the next house, If there was no answer he would crouch and retrieve an envelope and slip it under the door.

When he had been to all the house's in the square he began the walk up the lane towards the place where he had parked his MTAC. At two meters from the machine he did as he had done in the previous five settlements, stopped and lit a cigarette. I breathed out as his body slumped to the ground, two weeks that were not coming back but it had been worth it.

Gurden Edearis had been a Serpentis enforcer for around eight years he was untouchable, or so it had been though. I picked my way through the rocks down the slope and onto the road leading towards the town. My rifle, already dismantled, now sat in the briefcase which I was holding firmly in my left hand, I strode into town looking dead ahead at Gurden's MTAC.

The town's people parted as I came towards the body, rolling up his left sleeve I found what I was expecting, the Serpent engraved into his arm. I then removed my data pad from my breast pocket and attached the facial scanner.

This is an extract from my father's journal of his younger years, at the time he was writing this he was still in university, so it has been an eye opening experience for me to read and has definitely given me some questions that I can ask him when I next visit Syndicate.

Killing A Mechanical Tortoise

The whole feel of the pod was different I felt weaker slower and restrained like each thought that normally ran so smoothly from mind to ship was clogged somehow the messages got through yes but not so neatly or for that matter so effortlessly. Sansha has arrived.

So I have been silent of late, this has not been to a lack of activity simply a lack of time to write about it. My attacks on pirates both capsuleer and non, have been regular and with results as ever changing as a stormy sea, my market orders both buying and selling continue to be fruitful, sadly my fitted ships have not done so well.

Planet side operations continue to be a success with many orders for hybrid cattle coming in every week. The Masseri State is really on the map, another trader has recently moved into the area which means competition should bring more business to the area and more trade opportunities seem to be appearing in Eugales less than a stone's throw away.

But now Sansha has arrived and his hoards as before threaten all who dwell in our system. I acted fast to begin with, first I looked at Intel and then I tested my metal against the forces of evil myself eventually I took out six frigates and two battleships in three separate battles. But it seems Sansha learns fast and soon singular groups containing just frigates and battleships became a rarity and the cruisers proved more then a match for me. After these first attempts I later joined up with my Corp mates and began a second round of assaults this time we took out approximately ten Frigates and one cruiser. It's slow and steady but we seem to be getting somewhere.

Now I fear for those planet side, I myself have been in station since the incursion began but I worry for my friends and relatives. I have already started looking into producing aid packages as well as repopulation plans for some of the smaller colonies in the Viriette constellation. I have every confidence in the Intaki military in combination with Modus Legion to put up a good fight if Sansha does put feet on the ground but I do wonder if there is more I can do.

The Sun Rises and a New Day Begins

The Trimervaaryam livestock pastures project has now officially opened, to celebrate the fact, I threw a small party of fellow corporation members and friends. Not everyone managed to make it, probably in part due to the late notice of the affair. However everyone who did seemed to have a fun and enjoyable time.

Diagram of the genetically enhanced livestock

First we introduced ourselves, as not all the guests were acquainted then I showed a brief film explaining the genetic engineering that had been done, after this, most of the party went on a small viewing of the pastures.

There was then a raffle who's winner won a Garmur with the runner up winning a police pursuit frigate. I then finished the occasion with a nice little firework display outside Intaki V-5.

My employees at my planet side mansion were amazed at how friendly and cordial the capsuleer guests were, so I thank you all again and let you know you have convinced a few more planet dwellers that we are not all demons from the depths of hell.

The Police Pursuit Frigate was very kindly donated by the Aurora Arcology corporation
and on that note it brings another recent event to mind in fact the event which started my formation of a relationship with the aforementioned group.

I recently set free a group of prisoners who I retrieved from the wrecks of several serpents habitat modules. They had spent their last three months in holding cells, well fed and watered. I decided eventually to hand them on to the Aurora Arcology Project who said that they would rehabilitate them, which I personally hope they achieve though I admit part of me still wanted to release them into space where they could await their certain death in one of my jet-cans.

Both these events were also reported on by Aurora Arcology News so I would definitely recommend popping by there data stream and giving it a read.

ILF Member Profile

I would like to say a big thank you to my Suresha for putting up my ILF profile for public viewing. This is part of one of the corporations on going plans to have profiles available of some of its members from what I understand people are chosen at random so as to keep equality. The other profile available at this time is that of my fellow pilot Erun Talan who also writes the stories of his life as a capsuleer which can be found here.

Paamoralest, Traitor

Paamoralest, Traitor

Place:               Belt One Planet VI
System:            Intaki
Constellation:   Viriette
Region:            Placid

I flew in at two hundred kilometres off the centre of the belt, picking the appropriate rock nearest to my targets I warped down among them, at first they seemed still or confused then I opened fire. The ships volleys seemed to cut through the small frigates like paper, when they were down I moved onto the battleship. Its shields went down like the frigates but its armour was tougher stuff however it still seemed to do a better job then one of my destroyers and in not too long a time there was nothing left but a burnt out wreck. The last transmission I heard before it finally went silent comprised of just two words “Fraud...... TRAITOR”.

Its not about who made the ship its about how you use it, the Daredevil is an excellent ship in my humble opinion and despite its origins I will happily use one. Why not,  if given the choice between the kitchen knife made by your friend and the hand gun made by your enemy you'd pick up the hand gun to protect yourself, not the knife. Ships are not good and they are not evil they simply serve the purpose of there master.

As you might be able to tell I recently bought some Daredevil hulls and have been using them to destroy the the Serpentis scum who occupy our home system. At first they did think I was one of them and they would cry traitor as flames engulfed what remained of there ships however that surprise has now worn off as intel regarding my true identity has leaked out. All the same I have christened my new ship Paamoralest the Intaki work for traitor just to emphasise that this ship is not being used for the purpose its Angel Cartel engineers made it for.

Aliastra, Serpents and Cows

In the last week I have managed to stockpile a nice size stash of the new Aliastra Thorax's, twenty four to be precise. On the subject of the Aliastra corporation, I have been working quite closely with them as of late and recently I organised an operation where a small contingent of ILF pilots and their allies flew the Aliastra colours while performing a scourge on local serpentis targets. This included (but was not solely) an attack on the Serpents Coil followed by a cleaning up of all Serpentis anomalies in the Vilinnon system.

Hopefully these new Thorax hulls will be put to a similar task though I have not decided as of yet what that task will be however I have got my hands on an Aliastra battleship hull which I'm hoping to use as a flagship.

I have also started researching the idea of some ways to boost economic growth in my home town, this will take the form of the introduction of a herd of livestock to populate the pastures on the towns outskirts. Although such an idea has been tried in the past, this time I am considering the use of genetically engineered livestock to improve the chances of success. In the past my brother and sister introduced a herd of cattle which ended up being infected by a rare jungle parasite, the parasite would decrease milk output and eventually kill the host.

A virus was eventually produced to kill the parasite but due to some unfortunate error in the genetic makeup the viral agent remained active in the parasite for a small time after its death, so the dead parasites would become poisonous to the livestock, needless to say this pretty much finished the remaining livestock off as the dead creatures would end up falling off into the feed fields. Many had also died from more common diseases as well.

Hopefully this time we shall have more success.

The More We Burn The More We Learn

Another day another ship, things haven't gone so well of late, that's not to say I'm not bathing in my new found riches, it's just to say my losses are up again. This probably is the result of me recently taking more risks in combat with not only capsuleer pirates but also our serpentine friends.

On the plus side these losses have come with a few more victories to my name and hopefully in time I will learn more, becoming a much more efficient fighter. With Gallente frigate skill almost at five the days of advanced frigate combat draw ever nearer and though this won't change my general choice of the t1 frigate it will put another string on my bow.

Lost a cruiser yesterday in a DED 4 site, just couldn't get the damn thing to align. Luckily in some ways the sense of impending doom did allow me time to give the order for all crew to abandon ship. This allowed many more to get away with their lives intact. I then returned in a destroyer and managed to kill the remaining serpentis pirates. The loot from their ships totalled at one hundred and forty six million ISK and payed for my loss just under four times.

I guess the major factors of the eve universe are often to do with risk and reward, the reward isn't always money though that does help, sometimes it's honour, respect, knowledge or even companionship. A life in low security space showcases this idea perfectly, there are rare ores to be collected and good loot and bounties on the general pirate populous, not to mention the untapped wealth of the wrecks, lost drones and anomalies. Risks however are also numerable, the pirates are tough and can easily make mincemeat of any mining barge if the pilot is even slightly slow at warping out. The capsuleers, myself included, are under no obligation to hold back, meaning there are many sizable pirate capsuleer corporations which roam with little to no rules to stop them attacking who they please.

A Day to Remember

RIP
Name: Fiona Masseri
Age: 16
Race: Intaki
Cause of Death: Accidental overdose

Today we put my niece to rest,  I've attended other funerals over the last few years, many people have died in my time as a capsuleer. I've lost crewmen, neighbours and friends who never trod the capsuleer pathway but as for family, well the last people who died were my grand parents and that happened when I was very young.

There were flowers everywhere, the coffin was strewn with petals so that its lid was hardly visible beneath them, my brother had spared no expense to make the place as beautiful as it could be. I inwardly cried through the speeches but I would and could not let my mask of serenity fall, my brother needed my strength, I would not let him down. But as I held back my tears the burning sensation in my chest grew this sensation was not sorrow it was anger.

The coffin was carried from the entrance hall of our mansion where it was placed in a transport craft and lifted to the south side of town, where the town meets the desert, then it was set upon a pyre. As the flames engulfed the coffin my brother came to me and we embraced his own mask now fell to the ground and his sorrow overwhelmed him.

It is not a day I am likely to forget and I feel in many ways it has brought our family closer together however the cost of this day, the life of one of our own lies heavy in our hearts. The Serpentis will pay a heavy fee for what has happened, mark my words.

Home

I have lived in Trimeryevaaryam on the northern hemisphere of Intaki Prime for a very long time now, my family has long lasting ties with the town, owning, most of it and its surrounding lands. Well I say own but one would probably be more correct to say we are its stewards.

The groves that lie to the west of the town produce much of the local food and jobs. The population of the area, is a majority of Intaki residents, with the next largest ethnicity being some Brutor residents, who have only populated the area in the last couple of decades.

It's not an isolated destination as it has nearby rail access to the closest airport and launch pad, however the only visitors are normally former residents, returning to visit relatives or residents returning home from there jobs elsewhere on the planet.

There are some small circular groves of compressed trees and vines which produce much fruit. Their colour contrasts distinctly with the jungle that lingers behind them. The jungle had once engulfed the whole of the west side of town and it was my family who cut it back and helped form the groves.

Before that time the village, as it was then, got it's food by hunting the local wildlife or by buying food in from other nearby settlements, this often meant food was rather sparse. After the formation of the groves things have improved but with the current rate of population growth problems are not too far off and we lack the supplies to properly cultivate more groves.

To the north and east lie grass lands dotted with more patches of jungle and two of the three rivers that give the town it's name, Although efforts have been made to cultivate this land for herd grazing animal we have so far not had much success.
To the south is the third river which descends from the far off mountains and through the desert and then through the outskirts of town. This area is not the most pleasant part of town as here is where the industry takes place in four heavy engineering factories which to this day are entirely automated. This is also where the rail station is situated.

The Masseri family mansion is presides in the centre of town, a spire of glass and metal the tallest building in town, it is surrounded by out buildings which once where storage facilities but now have been re-purposed to serve the needs of the local SOE group. With my relatives, I and our staff taking up the top three floors the remaining floors are occupied by the local SOE tactical team and various members of my crew.

The local people are not as fond of my family as they where in the past this probably is because we are now mostly capsuleer's and this has definitely put some of the locals on edge however at this time their seems to be no outright aggression towards us and we definitely have some genuine supporters in the local community.
